Important Update of Locking Systems for Apartment and Common Doors – July 3, 2025
Dear Residents,
To ensure the continued functionality of the locking system, a software update of all installed iLOQ lock cylinders and keys is necessary. Otherwise, there is a risk that the installed lock cylinders on the doors may no longer accept the issued keys, and you might be unable to unlock your apartment door or any other common doors.
Required Actions:
- Check whether the update has been carried out on your apartment door.
→ You can recognize this by a yellow Post-it note on your door. - Update your key using one of the following methods:
Option A: Directly at the underground garage entrance (recommended)
- Starting July 3, simply hold your key near the new iLOQ reader below the keypad.
- The update will be performed automatically, and the garage door will open simultaneously.
Option B: Using the “iLOQ S50” App (requires a smartphone with NFC capability)
- Download the “iLOQ S50” app onto your smartphone.
- Open the app and select “Update Key.”
- Ensure that the key icon at the top of the screen is active.
- Hold the key close to your smartphone’s NFC area and, if prompted, tap “Update.”
- A confirmation will appear on the display once the update is successful.
Important: Please do not update your key before the lock cylinders on your apartment door have been updated. Keys and cylinders only work together if they have the same software version!
After updating your keys, you may remove the Post-it note from your door.
Important Notes and Background Information:
To ensure the long-term functionality of the locking system, a software update of all iLOQ lock cylinders and associated keys is essential. Otherwise, keys may stop working — including at your apartment door and common area doors. Unauthorized access is excluded.
The update of the lock cylinders will be carried out on Thursday, July 3, by the company WAF Meyer during the day. Technicians will ring your apartment doorbell, but entry into your apartment is not necessary — the update will be performed from outside the door. The update will also be performed if you are not at home.

A representative of the housing cooperative will be available on July 3 between 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the underground garage ramp on Julius-Vosseler-Strasse to assist you with any questions or issues.
